5. Why is physical and mental health so important to you?
The two are inextricably intertwined. Us humans, we are all about our minds, but the body carries a greater intelligence. The body tells us exactly what it is we need, but our brains make it messy.
Presence with your heart, your organs, your muscles, your breathing... it's the only way to uproot what the brain believes and rewire to a new plane of attunement.
When I am physically active, the challenge of the human condition (our thinking mind) becomes much easier to alleviate through a strong and capable vessel. Feeling my physical strength motivates me to peer into the darker corners of my mind with a curious approach, instead of a fearful one.

5. Why is physical and mental health so important to you?
In order for me to show up for my family and friends, I have come to realize that I have a responsibility to show up for myself first. I haven’t experienced anything that balances my mental health better than physical activity and that takes on so many forms- jumping rope to some really good music, slacklining in the sunshine, mat pilates, heavy lifting with a friend, or running with my dog.
Physical activity has been the closest thing to a cure-all for my mental health that I know of.

In regards to mental health: Speak to yourself as you would with a good friend - it's a friendly reminder to be kind to yourself as we are usually our harshest critic. And serves as good a way to train your mind to be more cognizant of those negative self-talk moments.
5. Why is physical and mental health so important to you?
I see physical and mental health as ongoing progress to sustain long-term happiness within myself. Both are a lifestyle and a practice that's ingrained in my day-to-day to be a better version of myself each day for me and those around me.

The best health advice I've ever received is that "a healthy body is a responsive body" - meaning if youre trying to lose weight or grow muscle or any sort of goal with your body, you have to make sure that your internal state is healthy first so that it will respond and work with you.
5. Why is physical and mental health so important to you?
Physical and mental health are extremely important to me because I believe that they are so deeply interconnected. I believe that they are one of the foundational pillars to living a fulfilling life with purpose. Good mental and physical health enables me to enjoy a higher quality of life, engaging in activities like bodybuilding and coaching as well as maintaining positive relationships with others. When life gets hard, and challenges start to arise, I am able to have resilience and strength because I prioritize giving energy to my mental health daily. I am more willing to engage and stand up in the face of hardship as I have practice and experience in building my physical and mental health. They're very important to me the more I age as well because I want to have longevity and lower health care costs in the future.
